Sweet Little Monkey Feet

Sunday, August 29, 2010

Noah has done this thing with his feet since he was born. We though by now he would have stopped doing it as his legs stretched out and relaxed a little. But he still does it all the time and it is so ridiculously cute. Anytime he is laying on his back he always bends his knees and puts his feet together. He has little monkey feet.

Sweetest. Little. Toes. Ever.

Family Fun Day!

Saturday, August 28, 2010

Today was Family Fun Day. It is rare that we are all home together with no plans. Whenever those days come around we try to do fun things with the kids. I love that our girls look forward to these days so much. They love Family Fun Day! The Duncan High School cheerleaders were putting on a cheer camp for the elementary age kids. Macy wanted to go so bad so that is what she did that morning. They even did a little dance at the end. She was so cute and they said she was a natural ; ) After naps we hit the snow cone stand and the park, which is a favorite of the whole family. I know it won't be long till it starts to cool off and the snow cone stands close up. I think Noah felt a little cheated... Jason tried to give him a little bite but he HATES cold things, so he didn't like it. This is the first time we have been to the park that Noah has been old enough to try out the baby swings. He LOVED it!!! He just giggled and smiled the whole time. Sweet baby boy!

Stephens County Fair

Friday, August 27, 2010 The Stephens county fair was in town this weekend. We have taken the girls the last few years and they LOVE the fair! We walk through all the show barns and the girls pet the animals. We walk through the buildings and the girls mooch candy and balloons. They rode the little choo choo train. And then we finished out the evening with the rodeo. We all had a great time!

Biker Chick

Thursday, August 26, 2010 Isn't she the cutest little biker ever?! Totally rocking the Huffy. She has mastered riding her bike. I am so proud of her because we couldn't get Macy on a bike until about 6 months ago. But she followed her sister lead and took off. She is the cutest thing to watch because she goes into her own little world and just pedals along and sings to herself and sways her little head back and forth. It's SO adorable!

Story Time

Wednesday, August 23, 2010 Story time is a big deal at our house. I love that my kids love to be read to. Me and Jason have always enjoyed reading and I really hope to pass that on to our kids. When Macy was a little baby, like 12-15 months, we could tell her the name of a book and she would go fish through her bookshelf and pull the right one out. It is unbelievable what their little minds can absorb. Now that the girls are older they enjoy most of the same books. Noah is going to grow up to be a fan of Pinkalicous and Lilly's Purple Plastic Purse : ) This picture just melts my heart. I love seeing them all piled up on Daddy enjoying a good book.

Noah's First Avocado

Tuesday, August 24, 2010

Today was Noah's first official meal! I had planned on waiting till he was about 6 months but he has become obsessed with watching people eat. It was getting pretty pitiful. And since he got a tooth and has been sitting up better I decided to go ahead and give it a try. I mashed up an avocado for him to try. That was Mackenzie's first food too. It took him a quite a few bites to get the hang of it, but by the end he liked it! Whhaaaatttt??? Mom, why are you doing this to me?!?!?

Ok.... this isn't THAT bad.

Yum Mom! Your the best!

Happy but messy boy!

My Baby's First Tooth

Monday, August 23, 2010 Noah officially has his first tooth! Doesn't he look super excited about me cramming my fingers into his mouth?!? He has been drooling and chewing for several weeks. We were pretty sure he was teething, but with babys it can be so hard to tell. We kept looking at his gums and there was nothing there. Until last night. I could see two little white spots where the teeth were under the gums. Sometime between last night and this afternoon the right one broke through. It apparently didn't bother him much (thank goodness) because we didn't even know it happened! The left one is just barely under the surface so I know it is going to be coming in the next few day.

Most Intense Shopping EVA.

Sunday, August 22, 2010 Oy. Today I did my volunteer shift and shopping at the Just Between Friends consignment sale. I fixed it so I could volunteer and do my shopping right after. There was so.many.clothes. It was super organized but the sheer volume was just overwhelming. I shopped for about 3.5 hours and only made it halfway through each of the kids sizes. Finally I had to give up and go get in line to check out. I still got a ton of great clothes and awesome deals. Now that I have done it and understand it a little better I think I will volunteer a little more next sale so I can shop earlier and hopefully beat some of the crowd. I am go glad I got to do it though!

5K Take 2 and Happy Birthday Dad!

Saturday, August 21, 2010 I did my second 5K race today and it was much better! I didn't have a buddy to run with (Natalie!!!) but it was still fun. It was MUCH more level than the race last weekend. I thought I did at least a minute or two better but my time ended up only being about 30 seconds faster. My official time was 35:13. I am happy with that and am going to keep with it! I will get faster, I will get faster! Today was also my Dad's birthday party. We had key lime pie and it was A-mazing!! It was great to see all my family. Happy Birthday Dad!

Homemade Baby Food

Friday, August 20, 2010 I read several articles when I was pregnant with Noah talking about how easy it was to make homemade baby food. I don't know why it never occurred to my with the girls. I did a little more research and found a great website that explains how to do everything. It was SO. EASY. And by making it I have more control over the freshness of the fruits and vegetables and the flavor is much better because it isn't super processed like store bought. He hasn't actually tried any yet, but hopefully we will start in the next couple weeks. I made applesauce, peaches, bananas, avocados, sweet potatoes, and carrots. I can't wait for him to try it!

What's His Name is 5 Months Old!

Thursday, August 19, 2010

Poor Noah. I don't even think he know his name is Noah. He has multiple nicknames that everyone has given him. This is what he gets called the majority of the time....

Bubby - Me

Bubs Scrubs- Mackenzie

Brudder - Mackenzie

Bubs - Macy

Chubby Bubby - Jason (I am sure Noah is praying that this one gets forgotten soon)

No No - Reese

Check out those jowls.

Seriously. I could eat them up.

His thinking face.

All smiles. That's my Noah!

My baby boy!!

His Mama loves him!

God's Promises

Wednesday, August 18, 2010 Sunday night at church we had Sundae Sunday (YUM!) It actually sprinkled a little which finally made the weather cool off a bit. Ahhh... We walked outside and this is what we saw. Beautiful!

My Freakishly Creative Kid

Tuesday, August 17, 2010 Macy is so creative. Freakishly creative. Like my mind can't even go where hers does. She definitely didn't get that gene from me. I am pretty sure it came from her Aunt Holly. But she never ceases to amaze me with what she creates and how she creates it. This is her little giraffe toy she got from McDonald's. She named her Chinchilla. She decided Chinchilla needed some clothes so she cut and colored her an outfit. Notice the hood. She was very proud of that addition. But my favorite part? She got two staples that she attached to the clothes so that she can hook and unhook the staples to take the clothes off and on. Seriously. She thought of this all by herself! She is always making things like this. She also made Chinchilla a house. She cut out windows then put clear tape over the holes and used a crayon to make window panes. Amazing!

Beautiful Roses

Monday, August 16, 2010 This is my favorite part of Jason's trips to Ecuador. They grow a good portion of the world's roses. Jason said they have rose houses everywhere and this trip they even got to go into one. Jason always brings me back beautiful flowers!!

My Little Quichua Girls

Sunday, August 15, 2010 Jason and Rachel got home from Ecuador about 8:30 last night. I was so thankful to have all of my little family back home together!! The girls and Noah were so glad to see them. They missed their Daddy so much. Even though the girls understand why he is gone it is still hard for them. Noah was so sweet. He got so fussy Saturday (which is very unlike him) and refused to go to bed that night (which is also very unusual). He usually goes to bed about 7:00-7:15 but he just flat refused. So I let him stay up since I knew Jason was coming (and apparently so did Noah)! When Jason got home he immediately stopped being fussy and just stared Jason right in the face with the biggest smile! It was so sweet, he really missed his Daddy! He kept opening his mouth like he wanted to give him a big kiss. It's hard on that poor boy being stuck in a house full of girls all week!

Jason brought the girls back these super cute outfits. They are traditional outfits of the Quichua. They are the people that live in the area that they visited on their mission trip to Ecuador. The girls loved their outfits and looked so adorable!

Watermelon Festival 5K

Saturday, August 14, 2010 After my 6 week check up with Noah I decided I wanted to get back into running. I started with the Couch 2 5K program. I made it all the way through and have moved onto Bridge 2 10K. I really enjoy running even though I am not at all a natural runner. I have to make my body do it. I was always one of the slowest runners when we had to run our mile in high school basketball. But I am determined to overcome it. Me and my friend Natalie that I work with decided to do this one together. I am so glad I had a friend to do it with. It made it much more fun! This was my first official 5K road race. It was in what I believe may be the hilliest town in America, Rush Springs. The whole race was up and down HUGE hills! It was a really hard one to start with I think but I am so glad we did it. I came in with a time of 35:37. I am happy with how well I did and really enjoyed the whole experience. I am already signed up for another one next weekend and hope to do many more!

Ridiculous Amount of Consignment

Friday, August 13, 2010 This has been a thorn in my side for the last few weeks. I got a wild hair a couple months ago when I found out there is a huge consignment sale that comes to OKC in the fall and spring. The kids have TONS of clothes and I thought it would be nice if I could get a little money back from them to buy new clothes. I got all organized and washed everything (and this is JUST the winter stuff by the way, spring is in tubs for the next sale). But then came the ironing and tagging and hanging... It took FOR-EV-ER. It is finally finished though! I am really hoping this goes well to keep me motivated in the future. I am really excited about the shopping part too!

First Day of Kindergarten AND Macy Lost Her 2nd Tooth!

Thursday, August 12, 2010 Macy was super excited about starting school today! She met her teacher earlier this week and has really been looking forward to going back. I am so thankful she loves school. I see these kids crying and clinging to their parent's legs and I am so glad she doesn't do that! She is such a big girl and I am so proud of her! Since we live so close to her school we walked to school this morning. The whole way she kept telling me how loose her other bottom tooth was. I asked if she wanted me to pull it and of course she said NO WAY! We got to school and I walked her to the computer lab where the kindergartners sit in the morning. I waited out in the hall to watch her walk to class and when she came out she had her tooth in her hand and said it had just fallen out! Her teacher and all the other parents thought it was pretty funny. So I took it home and tonight it goes out for the tooth fairy!

Last Day of "Summer" Fun!

Wednesday, August 11, 2010 Today was Macy's last day before school started. I wanted to plan a whole day of fun to end the summer. We went to they gym in the morning and the girls played, then we met her friend Karmen at McDonald's, then we went to the Splash Pad before we went to church that night. We had SO much fun! This was the first time we went this summer because last summer it was always crowded with big mean kids and the girls just never had much fun. We were the only ones there for awhile and then later a few other younger kids came. Even Noah had a good time! Me and Noah just sat on the edge so we stayed wet and didn't burn up in the heat. We will definitely go more next summer. Noah will really be able to get out and enjoy it next year!

Cat Love

Monday, August 10, 2010 This is Morgan and Bella our cute kitties. They are so sweet and love to nap together. Bella torments Morgan because he is getting fat and old but he always forgives her and lets her snuggle with him. Poor boy. He looks ginormous in this second picture!

Peach Harvest

Monday, August 9, 2010 We planted a peach tree 3 summers ago and this summer we finally got some peaches (we got a lot more than just these, this was today's picks)!! They are so delicous and super sweet. We were worried about them for awhile because it took all summer for them to ripen. But apparently they are a type of peach that just isn't ready till August. Hello peach cobbler and homemade baby food!

Great Grandpa

Sunday, August 8, 2010 Today we went to visit my grandpa and the kids great-grandpa. This is the first time he has seen Noah and I wanted to make sure to get a picture with him and all the kids. This is Macy's "I haven't eaten lunch, I need a nap, and my mom just spanked me for getting an attitude face". Oh well. Better luck next time!

Off To Ecuador

Saturday, August 7, 2010 This is what I spend a good part of my evening doing. Refreshing the Continental website to see where Jason and Rachel's plane was. They left today from Houston to go to Ecuador for a week. I am not usually nervous when people fly. Jason has been to Ecuador several times before. But I had a bad dream about this exact flight several years ago. I know that was a long time ago but if was super vivid and has stuck with me. Two of the most important people in my life were on that plane.

And it doesn't help things either that me and Jason have been watching Lost and it's all about a plane crash! I could finally go to bed once I saw this. Landed safe and sound. I talked to Jason today and he said everything went smooth and they were getting off to a great start. God is good!
