Christmas Eve

Friday, December 24, 2010 We spent the night with Bruce and Deborah and here we all being super perky (especially Jason) Christmas Eve morning! Noah all fancied up in his jeans and Cinch shirt. He looks like such a little man! The girls all pumped for the drive to Nanny's house! All the cousins ready to open presents! Mass chaos is about to ensue! My baby in a box. He was tired of being held and with so many kids running around like crazy people this was probably the safest place for him! He didn't seem to mind. Cheeeessseee! Macy putting out reindeer food. Mackenzie was in the house being pouty and did not want to come out in the cold. At least one kid was ready for Santa! Gotta have the milk and cookies! MMMMMMM...... My sweet baby boy! He wasn't sleepy so he got to stay up with the big people a little longer and he did his best to wait out Santa!

Family Christmas

Thursday, December 23, 2010 Today the kids opened their presents that me and Jason got them. We were leaving that afternoon to see all our family and would be gone till Christmas. Noah was so much more into his presents than I thought he would be! Sooooo excited!! Noah's reaction to his presents was so adorable! He loved it! A new monster towel for my little monster! And most importantly, there was paper to be eaten!

Noah Officially Belongs

Wednesday, December 22, 2010 It was right before last Christmas that we finally decided on a name for Noah. I thought it would be cute to hang his stocking, but I didn't have time to get Deborah to embroider it. It looked so sad sitting there blank so I did the best I could! Deborah embroidered it for him this year. Now he is official!

Naughty Little Jack

Tuesday, December 21, 2010 Jack has been getting more creative in the places that he has been venturing each night and I thought this would get some giggles out of the girls! They thought it was so funny that Jack was getting friendly with one of their Barbie's!

Upcycled Wool Sweater

December 20, 2010 I have been looking for some 100% wool sweaters at thrift stores to make soakers to go over Noah's diapers at night. He pees out of them (his disposables, I haven't got any nighttime cloth diapers yet) about 75% of the time. If you felt wool it is almost waterproof, but still breathable, and makes a great diaper cover. Wool is really expensive, or you can turn old sweaters into a cover! I found several this weekend and this is my first attempt. It turned out really good and fits Noah just right. Now to see if I can stop all his nighttime leaks.....

Noah - 9 Months

Sunday, December 19, 2010 My sweet baby boy is 9 months old today. He wore his little suit to church this morning. Doesn't he look adorable?? He has a tie on too, it's just hard to see underneath all those chin rolls! Noah and his Daddy all dressed up ready for church. They sure do look handsome! Noah's personality is blossoming more everyday. He finally decided he didn't need his swaddling blanket anymore, so he has been sleeping without it the last 2 weeks or so. The first 2-3 nights were rough, but now he is back to normal. He is loving table food (I ended up throwing out most of his baby food, the little stinker never would eat it). He loves macaroni and cheese, yogurt, and clementines. He will eat most anything as long as the texture is right. He doesn't like anything too runny (like baby food). He still isn't much interested in crawling. This is actually the most effort I have ever seen him make! He pushed up a few times and just looked at me like "Whew, I'm beat!" He had his first (and hopefully last) ear infection last week. He is such a sweet and easy going baby for the most part. We love you Bubba!

Christmas #1

Saturday, December 18, 2010 Ok, technically the party was last night but we spent the night so I am posting them for today : ) We celebrated Christmas with my mom's side of the family this weekend. It's always an exciting event. We decided to do a Mexican Christmas with lots of yummy Mexican food (which is way better than traditional Christmas food in my opinion), played Dirty Santa (which didn't get nearly as out of control as it usually does), and just enjoyed spending time together. Noah bonded with my cousin Nathan. I'm not sure why he is making the weird face in this picture, but he loved Nathan. Maybe it's a boy/3rd child thing. Noah could sense it. The girls stayed up WAYYYY too late and eventually crashed and burned on my parent's bed at about 11:00. Yes Mackenzie is sleeping in a bathing suit.

Macy's Christmas Party

Friday, December 17, 2010 Macy had her Christmas party today at school. I was so glad I was off work today so I could go help! They got to make little Christmas trees out of waffle cones, icing, and M&M's. Macy gobbled hers up right after I took this picture! They made little felt Santa's to hold their Christmas lists and then the adults helped them write out their Christmas lists to Santa. I think Macy was confused about what to ask for because everything on her list was Christmas decorations! This is her Christmas tree hat she made earlier in the week to wear at the party. They finished with a book exchange. They passed wrapped books around to music until it stopped and then got to open the book they were holding. So much fun!

Ooga Booga

Thursday, December 16, 2010 I had been anxiously awaiting this diaper in the mail for about 10 days. I am part of a diaper swap board and once a month you get paired up with someone and trade diapers. The lady I traded with was in Canada so it took forever to get here. It is SO cute! Noah loved it too! I haven't brought myself to splurging on this fabric yet (you can only order it online) but now I have a diaper with the camo Ooga Booga! It fit him really well! Yay for new diapers!

Dentist Day!

Thursday, December 16, 2010 I took the girls in today to get their regular teeth cleaning and Macy had 3 tiny cavities!! NOOOO! But it turned not being a big deal at all. They were able fix them right then and ended up putting sealants on all her molars. Apparently she got her Momma's teeth. She was such a big girl and never even flinched!

Kindergarten Carolers

Wednesday, December 15, 2010 The kindergarten classes have been learning Christmas songs in their music class. They went to sing at two different banks in Duncan today. It was sooo cute! I was surprised by how many songs they had learned. One of my fondest memories of elementary school is all the fun holiday songs we learned. Macy looked like she enjoyed herself. She said the best part was getting out of school for the last part of the day!

My Husband Is Out Of Control

Tuesday, December 14, 2010 So I have been wanting to learn how to crochet. Ever since I have seen several really cool things that I want that are crocheted I decided I need to learn how to do this. I don't really have anyone around to teach me all the different stitches and someone commented to me that You Tube videos are a great place to learn. But I am more of a hands on learner. I suggested to Jason that HE watch the videos then he could show me. Being the best husband ever he jumped on it. And this is what he made!!! The first night! Ridiculous, I agree. I think he has found his hidden calling. This hat he made for Noah. Oh but wait! We don't want the other two feeling left out. So the next day he made both of them hats too! The man has mad skills!! I don't think I am ever going to be able to live up to the crochet bar that he has set.

It Takes A Real Man To Curl Ribbons

Monday, December 13, 2010 We were wrapping presents tonight and I looked over and saw this. Me: Ummm... why are you making doing ribbons??? You are wasting time (as I look at the ginormous pile of presents we still have to wrap, and it was like 10:00). Jason: Because I want mine to be pretty. Me: Whatever. Just hurry making them pretty. 6" ribbon curls!!!!!!!!

Craft Out.

Sunday, December 12, 2010

First I have to say that Macy came up with the random term "craft out" on her own at some point in the last couple months. The girls love to craft but it generally is quite a mess so they know they have to ask before they drag everything out. Unless we are about to leave or it is almost bed time they can get their craft stuff out. And somewhere along the line Macy turned it into a verb. She now asks if they can "craft out" whenever she wants to get her craft supplies out. I think it is hilarious and it has totally stuck. Can I just say how incredibly thrilled I am with how these came out???! I have been making little shoes and I had seen this leather and faux fur fabric but I just wasn't sure how they would come out. Even better than expected! SOOOO CUTE!

I LOVE LOVE LOVE how this yarn wreath turned out. I wanted to do Christmasy colors and I think it looks so festive!! I am going to have to make many many more of these in different color schemes for different seasons and holidays.

Santa hat fail. The Santa hats that fit no one. This just proof to show you not all my projects don't turn out beautiful and perfect. I wanted to make the kids Santa hats (and the kids really wanted Santa hats) so I decided to be all crafty and make them since I already had some cute red fabric. I googled and looked for a pattern online. I only found one but it sounded promising. The fact that it had zero comments should have been a hint. I cut all 3 out and put interfacing on them to give them a nice shape. Then I sewed the first one. It didn't even remotely resemble a hat. It was pointy but that was where it ended. After much reading and trying to figure out what went wrong I pretty much decided that I didn't mess anything up the instructions just made no sense and wouldn't work to make a hat that actually fit a human. I was able to turn it into a Santa hat but it's like the tiny of tiniest hats. I am out of the red fabric and it's too close to Christmas to mess with it. Apparently McCall's makes an actual pattern for Santa hats so that is the route I plan on going next year!

Fat Cats In A Little Bed...

Saturday, December 11, 2o1o I think it's adorable how Billy and Willow (neither of which are small by any means) insist on cramming themselves together in one tiny cat bed rather than either

A. Getting into the bigger one directly next to them.

or

B. One of them sleep in each bed.

They love each other {{{Kitty Hug}}}

Happy (early) Birthday Mom!!

Friday, December 10, 2010 We had my Mom's birthday party this weekend so we could properly celebrate since her birthday is so close to Christmas. Me, Jason, Rachel, and Afshean brought the fixings and made dinner and cupcakes. We ended the night with a few games of Mexican Dominos. You have to keep an eye on us, we are a wild bunch! Happy Birthday Mom!! We love you!!
