On Our Way To Disney!

Yay! Finally on our way to Disney World! We are so lucky all our kids are fantastic travelers. They love to fly. The girls enjoyed all the excitement of being on a plane and Noah slept pretty much the whole time!

After we landed in Orlando there was a bus that took us back to our hotel. We are all so excited! (We didn't really let Macy hold Noah on the bus, she just held him for a few seconds for the picture!)
After a long day of traveling we went to Downtown Disney to eat and relax a little. The day had a few bumps along the way. Macy got the stomach bug that me and Mackenzie had 2 days before, we got lost going to Downtown Disney, and our luggage was super late. But when we finally got there and got some food in our stomachs we all cheered up. After dinner we found this splash pad and the girls had so much fun playing in the water. These smiling faces and giggly girls made all the trouble worth it!

Sweet Angels
Party Like It's 1999

Every night before me and Jason go to bed we always peek in at the kids. It's just a habit we got into a long time ago. I think it's because that is when they look the sweetest and most innocent : )
We went to check on the girls and this is how we found Mackenzie. After much giggling we grabbed the camera. How could we NOT take a picture of this?? The next morning Jason asked her why she slept in her party hat. She just looked at him and said as if it were perfectly obvious "Because it was in my bed". DUH. When you find a party hat in your bed you should always put it on to sleep in!
The Disney Countdown

Macy has really started to grasp the concept of time the last few months. It is so hard to explain to kids weeks, days, or even hours. Anytime we have a event coming up such as a birthday, holiday, or in this case our Disney vacation she likes to make a countdown chain. She got this idea last year from Pre-K. It's so good for her and Mackenzie. I tell Macy how many days till something and she totally makes the chain on her own. Then each morning her and Mackenzie tear one off and then count how many days left till we leave. It makes them that much more excited about things and keeps me from going nuts with them constantly asking "How much longer till.....?!?!"

Some Sweet Moolah

The girls have been saving their money from chores, birthdays, and other random things for quite awhile. But you don't have a lot of needs when you are 4 and 5. They haven't spent much because all they want to buy is candy and toys. And they already have too much of both those things. So I thought the Disney trip would be the perfect opportunity for them to take their spending money. They could blow it on whatever their little hearts desired. It's vacation! Macy wanted to bring her $12 odd dollars in change but I finally convinced her no one wanted to be paid in nickles and pennies, I helped them count out all their change and then gave them dollars in exchange. Mackenzie ended up with $42 and Macy $29! It was so funny because I counted it out and showed them how much change they had and then showed them how I was giving them the same amount in bills, but Macy was very skeptical. I don't think she ever quite believed me that this was a fair deal. Somehow in her mind the mounds of change she had just had to be worth more than the few measly bills I gave them in return!
Calm After The Storm

Last night at church there was a huge storm that blew through. It didn't last long but there were some pretty high winds and a lot of rain. As I was leaving church I saw these pretty clouds that were what was left of the storm behind the church. I thought it was beautiful!
Happy Birthday Mackenzie Jae!

Tinkerbell Cake
Friday, September 10, 2010
I love making the kids birthday cakes. I have for every birthday so far. I let them pick what kind of cake they want and then try to create something unique. Mackenzie wanted a Tinkerbell cake and picked out these little Tinkerbell "people" to go on it. I have been wanting to experiment with fondant and I found a really good recipe for it. I think it turned out pretty good! Mackenzie loved it and that is what really matters!
