Snail

Wednesday, September 8, 2010 How cute is this little guy?? Today it rained pretty much all day. There was a short break in the rain when we got home from the gym. As we were walking in the house this little guy caught my eye. He was SO tiny! It was probably not more than 1/2 inch. Me and Mackenzie stopped and watched him creep along for a couple minutes until the rain started up again!

Hardcore Crafting

Tuesday, September 7, 2010 The girls LOVE to make crafts. When they get going they can keep themselves busy for hours. It's nice. My Mom sent them some new craft supplies and they went to town!

Lawton Wildlife Refuge

Monday, September 6, 2010 Today was Labor Day so we were all off work and out of school. We took the kids to the Wildlife Refuge in Lawton for a picnic and hiking. We have been there several times and really enjoy it but this was the first time to take them all hiking. They were such troopers in the beginning. Unfortunately it was yet another hot Oklahoma day. Noah hung out in the Ergo and this is how he spent most of the hike. Man I love that thing! Such a good little hiker! Since it was so hot the girls wore shorts. There was a lot of loose rock on the trails and the girls kept slipping. They were getting hot and tired of falling at this point. Here are there battle wounds that caused all the hysteria. They really did have fun. We are looking forward to the weather cooling off (pant wearing weather) so we can make another trip!

Jungle Gym

Sunday, September 5, 2010

We have been going up to the park that is at the elementary school by our house for the last year or two to let the girls play after school. They always have fun but there are several of the bigger toys that they can't get up or get stuck on. Macy has been trying to climb this for the longest time. She could always get up it but would get stuck on the top and not be able to get down the other side. Now that she is going to this school she has gotten a lot more practice and has other kids to watch do it. Tonight when we were riding our bikes she wanted to go to the playground so bad so that she could show us that she could finally do it all by herself!

Great Steaks!

Saturday, September 4, 2010

I ran the Ringling Great Steaks 5K this morning. It started at 7:30, and it is an hour away, so I had to get up at 5:50 am! Oh my. I can't remember the last time I got up that early . The bonus was getting to watch the sun come up. I am not a morning person so that is something I only see about 3 times a year. But it was beautiful. The weather was amazing compared to what it has been. It was about 67 degrees when the race started. I came in with a time of 34:07! Which is not fast by any means but it is an over 1 minute improvement from my last race, which I am very happy about! The prizes for the top finishers was a cooler of ribeye steaks. I don't think I could think of a better motivation to run fast! Maybe next year!

Asparagus, Yummy Yummy!

Friday, September 3, 2010 Mackenzie really is a good vegetable eater when her sister isn't being a bad influence and convincing her not too. Her favorite is roasted asparagus (which is me and Jason's too). It is so delicious. I just think it's cute and funny though. When we make it she gets so excited and just keeps talking about how she loves it and how yummy it is! She will not eat other stuff on her plate and keep asking for more asparagus. You don't hear many 3 year old's say things like that....

Mackenzie's Buddy

Thursday, September 2, 2010 Mackenzie really enjoys having the house to herself while Macy is at school. She still pretty much has it to herself since Noah isn't mobile yet. She has no idea what's coming. But when Macy gets home from school Mackenzie is raring to play because she has been by herself all day and Macy is tired from school. I feel so bad for Mackenzie because she doesn't completely understand why Macy doesn't want to play with her and it makes her sad. So I have been trying to make sure she has a friend come over and play at least once a week. Her friend Karmen lives just half a mile or so from us so it is easy to get them together. They love hanging out together. Especially because it also usually results in lunch at McDonald's!

Sad Muffins

Wednesday, September 1, 2010 Sigh. My poor muffins. I have found an AMAZING blueberry muffin recipe that the whole family loves. I make a double batch every other week or so and throw them in the freezer to eat for breakfast during the week. I got all gung ho tonight to whip out a couple batches before bed and in my hast I used baking SODA instead of baking POWDER. Which resulted in these pitifully flat muffins. But on the upside, they still tasted delicious and got eaten with minimal complaints.

House Chicken

Tuesday, August 31, 2010 When I got home from work today I went to the back door to let Doc out. This is what was waiting for me. This is either Tracy or Brenda, I'm not sure which, they look too much alike. She had gotten out of her coop sometime during the day (which they often do) and somehow went in the dog door to the sunroom. The poor dumb thing couldn't figure out how to get back out. Jason said it's because she wanted to be a house chicken : )

Why? Just Why?

Monday, August 30, 2010 This has bothered me ever since we bought our Altima. WHY is there braille under the controls for the side mirror. On the driver side. I really wonder who the genius was that thought this one out...
